About this interview
A technical interview on Corporate Finance, pitched at the medium level. A voice AI interviewer leads the conversation, adapts its questions to your answers, keeps you on topic, and afterward gives you honest, specific feedback on where you were strong and where to improve. Expect roughly 30 minutes.
What you'll be assessed on
Handle business-partnering pushback and difficult stakeholder conversations with a structured, data-grounded approach rather than capitulating or getting defensive
Decompose multi-period and multi-driver variance bridges (rate vs. volume, price/volume/mix/cost) with verified arithmetic and identify the true root cause
Distinguish sensitivity analysis from scenario analysis, build both correctly, and defend a scenario's underlying narrative when challenged
Build multi-driver and cohort-based revenue models, correctly apply multiplicative (not additive) growth math, and reason about relative forecasting risk across strategies
Evaluate capital requests using payback, ROI, and net value, and recognize what simple payback math ignores relative to a full NPV analysis
Communicate variance results and forecast uncertainty to executives with calibrated, headline-first framing, and exercise sound judgment on ambiguous or incomplete data before publishing a number

A few sample questions
Just examples to set expectations - the real interview has many more and adapts to your responses.
“What does it mean for FP&A to act as a strategic business partner to a department, rather than just a reporting function that hands that department its numbers?
“What's the actual difference between a sensitivity analysis and a full scenario analysis in an FP&A model?
“A department wants to spend $200,000 on a tool projected to eliminate 2 FTEs' worth of manual work, at $80,000 fully-loaded cost per FTE. What's the simple payback period, and would you approve the spend on that basis alone?
