A few sample questions
Just examples to set expectations - the real interview has many more and adapts to your responses.
“A company's current ratio just moved from 2.5x to 1.1x over one year. Before you call that a red flag, what would you want to know?
“Two companies both report a current ratio of exactly 1.8x. One is a manufacturer with a lot of inventory; the other is a services firm with almost none. Whose 1.8x would you trust more as a sign of real short-term liquidity, and why?
“Budget for the quarter was $500 of revenue. You've since learned a known customer will churn, removing $20 of previously-budgeted revenue, and a newly signed deal will add $35 of annualized revenue starting exactly halfway through the quarter. Walk me through how you'd bridge from the $500 budget to the new reforecast.
